As a rape survivor, I’m telling you..

Rape survivor

As a rape survivor, I’m telling you:

“We carry extra weight that no one can carry for us with us or take away from us. I want to share this to make you feel less alone, to tell you your pain is valid and that I love you 💜”

As a rape survivor, I often feel alone in my pain, I feel neglected and let down. I mainly seek acknowledgement, love and safety. I don’t expect people to carry or take away my pain, because I know that that is impossible to ask for, and having gone through sexual abuse years on end, I wouldn’t wish this pain onto anyone.

Honestly it already means a lot if people want to listen, to acknowledge the pain and spread awareness. It won’t take away any of the survivor’s experience and pain, it may not even bring justice, but it will bring hope for a better world.

Feel free to repost and reshare if you want to spread this message (you can also use my caption, I just hope it helps someone out there). Tag me if you want the chance for me to see and repost in my stories/so I can leave a like/…

This is for everyone who did and didn’t survive. I love you 💜

xoxo
